Astonishing crowd near International Airport from Baia Mare. A lot of cops and law enforcer tried to make some order in the hundreds of cars that tried to reach as close as possible to the airport. Only the cars and motors registered in the show program had no problem with the cops, but they confronted with the crowd as the others did. In the end, anyone parked anywhere he managed, but the situation was maintained under control, even though it was no easy task. Extreme Street Racing is a event to which all participants want to convince the others that they have inside their cars, or under their seats a lots of horse power, that needs to be put to the trial.
Extreme Street Racing organized on the International Airport from Baia Mare reunited competitors from Maramures County, Satu Mare County, Salaj County, Bucuresti, Cluj County, Arad County, Brasov County, Harghita County, Hungary and Slovakia.
Super cars
More than 150 cars of all kinds, and about 60 motor-bikes registered, some of the car being of the last generation We saw participants from Maramures, Satu Mare, Salaj, Bucuresti, Cluj, Arad, Brasov, Harghita etc. and even from Hungary and Slovakia. Blink-Blink cars and other vip-style were there too, among the eight cathegories in the contest. Those categories were set considering the Horse Power of the engine, from 75 to 300 HP. In the last category, only three cars were found. All participants entered on the speedway in a certain order. After that, they tuned their engines and rushed on 2.2 Km. Engine noise, smell of burned tires, loud music from the tuned sound systems of the cars was the main sound theme of the event. The surprise of the day was a Trabant (the German car), brought from Hungary, to test its powers. Most of the attendants were young people, some of them being "dangerously" young, eager to step on the accelerator to the floor. Almost everybody took his girlfriend in the crazy race, so she can feel the intensity of the moment and the achievement of the deed. We hope that those kind of events, will help them fill their adrenaline rush need, and on the public roads they will respect the traffic rules so they won't be a danger to the other traffic participants.
